On April 10, 1956, the news of SORCAR
performing Sawing A Lady in Half was published on the front page of all
the London newspapers. GIRL CUT IN HALF SHOCK ON TV was the three-column
headline in Daily Mirrors, GIRL 'SAWN IN HALF' TRICK ALARMS VIEWERS was
bannerline of tThe Daily Telegraph, SAWN-UP WOMAN - TV PANIC was the headline
of News Chronicle, SAWING SORCAR ALARMS VIEWERS was the three-column headline
in Daily Herald, THE GIRL SAWN IN HALF IS ALL RIGHT...VIEWERS was the front
page double column neading in Daily Express. They published Sorcar's statement...."There
is no cause for alarm! Of course, we know how to do it - we've been doing
it for years and years"....Daily Mirror, London, in its issue of April
11, 1956, quoted those words and published one political cartoon by 'Vicki'
using the subject matter of cutting Germany in two parts...the four Heads
of the States are busy with their plans and statements about cutting and
rejoining of West and East Germany.
